GLS-International Event for Leather Goods and More will take place from March 5 to 7 next year at Dusseldorf (Germany) to run parallel to the leading international trade fair, GDS-The Premier Shoe Event, which is held twice a year.
The fair has a great potential for the Pakistani exporters of leather goods, disclosed a spokesman of the Messe Dusseldorf here on Friday.
According to him, the Export Promotion Bureau and the Pakistan Shoe Association has been exhibiting in GDS (world's largest shoe fair) since many years. Pakistan's participation in GLS alongside the GDS would boost its export to a great extent, as both the events would supplement each other.
The GLS 2006 product range includes bags, small leather items, belts, gloves, leather for shoe upper, leather for upholstery, leather for garments, and leather goods, luggage, office items and umbrellas.
The GLS exhibitors have been allocated a separate hall, but directly adjacent to the GDS halls. It would be divided into six focal segments: fashion, lifestyles, travel, business and school.
