Malaysian palm exports down in July

Malaysian exports of oil palm products for July 1 to 25 could fall 24.4 percent to 824,241 tonnes from the 1,090,534 tonnes tracked for June 1 to 25, Societe Generale de Surveillance, a cargo surveyor, said on Monday. Year-on-year, the figure should be down 7.3 percent from SGS's estimate of 889,068 tonnes for July 1 to 25, 2004.
SGS said its latest estimate comprised 754,530 tonnes of palm oils and 69,711 tonnes of oleochemicals and lauric oils.
In the palm oil category, 94,858 tonnes were made up of RBD palm oil, 402,428 tonnes of RBD palm olein, 94,139 tonnes of RBD palm stearin and 64,304 tonnes of crude palm oil.
China was the biggest buyer of Malaysian oil palm products for July 1-25, taking 200,400 tonnes, followed by Pakistan with 66,050 tonnes and the United States with 57,394 tonnes.
