Telecoms equipment maker Ericsson said on Monday it had won an order from India's Idea Cellular for technology that sends out e-mails to mobile phones. Ericsson did not give a value for the order, which will allow Idea to offer push e-mail services to its corporate users, giving them updated e-mail and calendar appointments for their mobile devices.
The service will be offered in eight Indian states by Idea, a joint venture between Tata, Birla and Cingular, owned by SBC Communications and BellSouth Corp.
