Federal Minister for Water and Power Liaquat Ali Jatoi has expressed his deep concern and grief over the tragic incident in Rojhan village in Rajanpur district where 14 precious lives have been lost due to hitting of a rescue boat with the electricity pole.
The minister has directed the concerned Wapda authorities to submit a report regarding the sad incident. He has also directed Wapda authorities to take immediate steps to avoid such mishaps during the current flood and rainy season.
He directed that special arrangements should be made with the help of local administration and the people should be informed about the precautionary measures during the season. He said that the flood affected areas need special attention and the Wapda officials should remain vigilant in all the areas during the season.
Jatoi has also issued instructions to Wapda to keep in touch with the local administration round-the-clock and take instant steps in the flood-hit area and guide the people to make their lives safer.
