Pakistan will host the 31st session of the standing committee of Saarc foreign secretaries in Islamabad on August 17-18, a foreign office spokesman said on Monday. Pakistan currently holds the rotating chair of the seven-nation South Asian grouping.
The standing committee's session will be preceded by a one-day meeting of the 26th session of the programming committee of senior officials on August 16.
All member states have confirmed participation in the meeting, the spokesman said in a statement here. The meeting will review progress of various Saarc activities since the 12th SAARC summit held in Islamabad in January, 2004.
