Child Protection and Welfare Bureau (CPWB) Punjab has repatriated nine out of 22 camel kids to their families who had arrived 11 days ago from United Arab Emirates (UAE). Dr Faiza Asghar, Advisor to Punjab Chief Minister, disclosed this during the handing over ceremony here on Saturday. Country Chief Unicef Umar Abidi, Director General CPWB Muhammad Khalid and Zubair Shad were also present on the occasion.
Dr Faiza said that five out of nine children belonged to Rahim Yar Khan, which include Allah Rakha (7), Abdul Hakeem (15), Abdul Hameed (17), Irfan (11) and Qurban Ali (6), whereas, three children belonged to Larkana, who are Sattar Ali (8), Tariq Ali (14) and Mukhtar Ali (8).
Dr Faiza said that applications of two persons were rejected for not proving their blood relations with children named Farhan son of Suleman and Aslam son of Sharif. She said that five cases were in the process of hearing at child protection court whereas six children were waiting for their parents. The parents who took the possession of their children were also directed to submit surety bonds worth Rs 100,000 each, she added. She said that CPWB was working speedily to dig out the parents of other remaining children.
Unicef representative Omer Abdi said that Dr Faiza had served the humanity by reuniting the children with their families.
