Residence of Balochistan Chief Minister Jam Muhammad Yusuf in Kalat was damaged in rocket attack on Saturday-Sunday night. According to details, unknown persons fired two rockets on the residence of Chief Minister in Kalat, about 80 miles south of Quetta along Quetta-Sibi section of national highway around 01:30 am on Saturday night. The rockets damaged upper portion of the building. Two guards also received minor injuries.
Soon after the firing of rockets, police and administration reached the site and started investigation.
Chief Minister also arrived in Kalat on Sunday.
Meanwhile, the issue was echoed in Balochistan Assembly here.
Members from treasury and opposition benches speaking on points of order strongly condemned the incident of rocket firing at the residence of Chief Minister.
Those spoke included Mohtarma Samina Saeed, Agha Faisal Daud (MMA), leader of opposition Kachkol Ali, Sardar Sanaullah Zehri, Rehmat Ali Baloch (National Party), Syed Ehsan Shah (BNP-Awami) Akhtar Lango and Akbar Mengal (BNP).
They said rocket firing is violation of provincial traditions.
Such incident never happened before. It is act of terrorism and we strongly condemn it. We would not allow traditions of Balochistan to be spoiled. After Quran, women and children are respectable for us.
This attack is not at the residence of Jam Yusuf but attack on our own house, they opined. They said differences are something else and such incident are other things.
They demanded that those involved in this crime should be arrested immediately and punished sternly. They also called for improving law and order situation and ensuring security to the masses.
