The Karachi Port Trust (KPT) has clarified a news item appeared in the June 23, 2005 issue of Business Recorder regarding formation of an investigation committee to probe death of a lady teacher due to heart attack at the KPT Staff College. According to a clarification issued by the KPT, the same news also highlighted involvement of Chaudhry Nusratullah Nusrat, manager, training and education, in liquor smuggling scam during the period of former KPT chairman.
The news has no bearing with the constituted inquiry committee. It has damaged the image of former KPT chairman.
Furthermore, it is to clarify that the KPT public relations department has not released any press statement regarding the matter.-PR
