Federal Labour, Manpower and Overseas Pakistanis Minister Ghulam Sarwar Khan, in a press statement during his visit to Karachi,, presented a comparison about the different institutions of his ministry and also overall performance as compared to 1999 Taking about the increase in the minimum pension of EOBI, he said, "Since 1999, the minimum pension has been increased from Rs 425 to Rs 1,000 per month in three phases, which comes to 232 percent.
The increase in minimum pension is given from January 2005, the arrears of which will be given with the increased pension of August 2005.
"Similarly, minimum wages have been doubled in the last six years. In 1999, the minimum wages were Rs 1,500 and in the present budget, the minimum wages have been enhanced to Rs 3,000."
Giving details about the export of manpower, the minister informed that in 1999 "the export of manpower was 100,000. It has increased to 173,824".-PR
