The first ever Pak-India football series is a step onward for promotion of the game in both nations whose rankings are below 135 n world ranking. But a change will occur if it will become an annual feature. This was stated by Indian chief coach Sukhwinder Singh during a reception hosted by Punjab Governor Lieutenant General Khalid Maqbool (Retd) for the officials and players of Pakistani and Indian team who won one international each in recently-concluded historical series.
PFF President Makhdoom Syed Faisal Saleh Hayat and Secretary General Muhammad Arshad Khan Lodhi were also present at Governor House who played pivotal role in arranging a series for the first time in 57- year history of PFF. The series commenced at Quetta on 12 June with 1-1 draw, followed by 1-0 victory for India at Peshawar on 16 June. Pakistan staged recovery and drew level at Lahore on 18 June by authoritative 3-0 win with Wapda's players Tanveer Ahmed and Arif Mehmood scoring two of the goals.
