Prime Minister Shaukat Aziz along with Punjab Governor Lieutenant General Khalid Maqbool (Retd), Chief Minster Punjab Chaudhry Pervez Elahi, Federal Minister for Food and Agriculture Sikandar Hayat Boson visited the stall of Millat Tractors Ltd at Kissan Mela held here at Alhamra Arts Council recently, says a press release issued here on Friday. Prime Minster was briefed that Millat Tractors increased its production from 14,000 units in 2002-2003 to 19,000 units in 2003-2004. This year the company would deliver more than 22,000 tractors to cater to the rising demand of farmers.
He was further briefed that Millat Tractors was set to produce 30,000 tractors in the coming year against the expected increase in the demand of tractors, the release added. The Prime Minister was also informed that local tractor industry was capable to meet the domestic demand for tractors.
The Prime Minister took keen interest in Millat's newly introduced 100 plus horsepower tractors MF 465(120) HP and MF 460 (105) HP tractors. The Prime Minister commended the role of the company, the release said.-PR
