Russia has a window of opportunity in the next few months to secure entry to the World Trade Organisation (WTO) but government co-ordination must improve to achieve this goal, EU Trade Commissioner Peter Mandelson said. Mandelson told a news conference on Monday that the current pace of negotiations was "creating a possibility of final entry in early 2006." "If it is going to be achieved we are looking at a tight timetable, stepping up the pace of negotiation and intensifying in particular co-ordination among government departments," he added. Russia and the EU hold a summit in Moscow on Tuesday.
