The England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) on Wednesday announced a 15-man line-up for the upcoming five-match One-Day International (ODI) series against Pakistan.
All-rounder Ben Stokes, who limped off the field during the second Test at Old Trafford against Pakistan due to a calf injury, was named in the squad, reported ecb.co.uk on Wednesday.
Stokes, however, is not the only player returning from injury as According to ESPNcricinfo, both captain Eoin Morgan (chipped bone in finger) and Jos Buttler (fractured thumb) are expected to be able to start the series following their recent injuries.
This is the first squad Mark Wood has been included in since injury ended his tour of the UAE last year, after which he underwent ankle surgery which kept him out of action until last month. He takes the place of Steven Finn, who picked up a hamstring injury on the fourth day at The Oval and has been ruled out for four weeks.
Pakistan on Sunday bounced back at The Oval after comprehensive defeats at Old Trafford and Edgbaston to level the four-Test match series 2-2. Chris Woakes, who was Man of the Series, and Joe Root are both included for the upcoming ODIs.
James Vince, however, has been dropped. Pakistan now travels to Ireland for two one-day internationals next week before returning to England for five ODIs and a Twenty20.
