England look to bounce back from the 75-runs first defeat at lord’s as Adil Rashid was given the call alongside with the England’s all time leading wicket-taker Anderson and all-rounder Stokes for the second of four-match series starts at Old Trafford on Friday.
England cricket team Coach Trevor Bayliss implicit England possibly may field two spinners in the second test against Pakistan as the hosts chase a series-leveling victory at old Trafford.
Speaking after the selections for the second Test, Bayliss was quoted as saying on Monday, "I've always thought of playing two spinners (at home) at some stage," he said. "(Pakistan) have three left-arm pace bowlers, who created rough outside the off stump for Moeen. So looking ahead, if we did happen to have two spinners, they could both play an important part for us," Sky Sports reported.

Moreover expressing dissatisfaction over the way his batsmen handled Yasir Shah, Bayliss asked his batsmen to tighten their technique against the newly rated No. 1 Test bowler in the International Cricket Council (ICC) Test rankings. "Our batters have to play their (Pakistan) spin a lot better. Especially in the first innings, I felt we gifted him a few wickets with shots I'm sure the boys would like to replay," NDTV reported.
Moeen Ali, who for most of his career has been better known as a batsman, was effectively 'milked' by Pakistan in their first innings 339 at Lord's and there are those who believe Rashid could replace him as England's front-line spinner.
