Punjab Chief Minister Chaudhry Pervaiz Elahi has accorded approval for up-gradation of Lahore Zoo and setting up of Jallo Theme Park projects.
He gave the approval while presiding over a high-level meeting here on Thursday, to review the said projects. Punjab Chief Secretary Kamran Rasool and other senior officials were present on the occasion.
Elahi further said that more animals would be brought from other countries for Lahore Zoo, besides providing them natural environment.
He directed to allow free entry as well as recreational facilities to students of rural areas and disabled children on monthly basis. He also directed that special security measures must be adopted for children and women at the zoo.
He maintained that Jallo Theme Park would not only serve as a recreational centre but also reflect cultural and historical heritage of the country.
