Jamiat Ulema-i-Islam has planned to observe "Black-Day" on Friday throughout country to condemn the raids of security forces on religious seminaries and arrest of teachers and students.
"We have convened an emergency meeting on Friday to set future strategy to resist and react on the raids of security forces on religious institutions and harassing the teaching staff as well as students while demonstrations would also be organised in major cities to condemn it," said Maulana Noor Muhammad, a spokesman of JUI.
He said that law enforcing agencies including army raided the residence and religious institution of Hafiz Hussain Ahmed, Deputy Parliamentary leader and arrested a teacher who was later released.
Hafiz Hussain Ahmed, MNA a leader of JUI said in his statement that General Pervez Musharraf was terrorising and harassing the students and teachers of religious seminaries for the pleasure of Uncle SAM for perpetuating its unconstitutional rule.
