The eleven months' production in the consumer items like cars, jeeps, motorcycles, fertilisers, cotton cloth and others has shown tremendous increase.
The production data from July-May 2003-04 shows that over 90 percent items enlisted in the data were on positive side.
Highest increase was noted in phosphatic fertiliser which touched 142.77 percent growth.
However, high level increases were mostly noted in the auto sector where production of cars rose by 58.52 percent, jeeps by 131.44 percent, motorcycles by 73.56 percent, tractors by 34 percent, LCVS by 11.67 percent and trucks by 4.71 percent. Motor tyres production increased by 20.14 percent, glass sheet production by 12 percent, while motor tubes production dropped by 7.95 percent.
Increase in major products was also significant as sugar increased by 8.98 percent, cotton cloth (mill and non-mill) 8.34 percent and cotton yarn by 1.5 percent.
The important increase was noted in the production of cement, which was up by 17.64 percent.
Production of soda ash increased by 1.36 percent and caustic soda by 14.84 percent. Overall fertiliser production increased by 8.16 percent.
Jute goods increased by 9.75 percent while paper and boards increased by 8.34 percent.
Paper production rose by 8.61 percent and board by 11.37 percent. However, chips board production dropped by 6.51 percent.
Coke production increased by 1.79 percent, iron and steel products rose by 5.36 percent.
