Wapda after intensifying its on-going nation-wide door-to-door recovery drive has given go ahead to all chief executives of distribution companies across the country to disconnect the power supply of all defaulters without any discrimination forthwith.
Chairman Wapda, Tariq Hameed, told the newsmen here on Sunday that supply of defaulters would not be restored unless entire arrears were cleared. He said that response and co-operation from private sector has been encouraging in terms of payment of current bills and outstanding
He said public sector defaulters have been finally warned to clear their dues forthwith to avoid disconnection and other legal action. He said that all CEs SEs, Xens and SDOs of the distribution companies have been told to ensure maximum recovery from defaulters
Tariq Hameed urged consumers to ensure timely payment of electricity bills to help Wapda launch more power generation projects to meet the ever increasing energy demand in the country.
Several recovery teams have been constituted at sub-division level, which have been directed to act without fear or favour, and show results, he said.
Chairman said overall performance of all field officers of distribution is being monitored weekly through computerised network and those officials showing excellent performance would be awarded reward while negligent would be taken to task.
