Punjab Budget 2004-05 is likely to be presented on June 14 and this decision has been taken after the shift in the date of the Federal Budget 2004-05 to June 12.
Official sources told Business Recorder here on Thursday that earlier the Punjab Budget was to be tabled before the Punjab Assembly on June 12.
However, since the sixth National Finance Commission (NFC) Award has not been finalised, the Federal government had to change the date of the Federal Budget from June 5 to June 12. The Federal government was hoping for the finalisation of NFC before the Federal Budget.
The sources disclosed that the Punjab government was very hopeful for the finalisation of NFC and it has already prepared the budget in the light of the sixth NFC Award, however if an agreement was not reached the budget would be based on the fifth NFC Award.
