The Swiss franc ticked slightly lower against the dollar on Wednesday, relinquishing some of its recent gains after the Swiss National Bank (SNB) signalled that it saw no risk of rising inflation despite low interest rates.
The dollar was at 1.2722/26 francs compared with 1.2703/08 late in Europe on Tuesday. The euro bounced higher to 1.5398/5400 francs from 1.5363.
Swiss National Bank Vice Chairman Niklaus Blattner told reporters late on Tuesday that the central bank could not ignore rising oil prices but reiterated that monetary policy would only change once a recovery in the economy was confirmed.
