The Lahoriites witnessed the hottest day of the season on Friday, as mercury touched the mark of 44.7 Celsius degrees, confining them indoors, while the meteorological office has forecast more hot and dry weather in the coming days.
A meteorological official disclosed that the maximum temperature recorded was 44.7 Celsius degrees while minimum temperature was 27.6 Celsius degrees. The level of humidity was low. "For the next 24 hours the weather would remain hot and dry," he added.
The hottest cities of Pakistan on Friday were Sargodha and Mianwali where the maximum temperature were 45.5 Celsius degrees. The mercury in Nawabshah was 45 Celsius degrees.
The scorching heat kept the people in doors and the weather became even more unbearable when hot winds started. The markets and roads wore deserted look while school children were worst effectees of the present hot spell.
