ZAGREB: Croatia's President Kolinda Grabar-Kitarovic condemned as "enemies of Croatia" the football fans who threw flares in the stadium during the country's Euro 2016 match against Czech Republic on Friday.
Grabar Kitarovic said the supporters, who have caused repeated trouble, were "haters of their own squad and country."
With UEFA set to open an official investigation, the president pledged the fans involved would be held accountable. "Shame on you!" Grabar-Kitarovic said on her official Facebook page.
At least 10 flares were thrown on the pitch from the Croatian corner of the Saint-Etienne stadium where Croatia drew 2-2 with Czech Republic on Friday.
Croatia coach Ante Cacic called the fans "sports terrorists".
