Sindh Governor Dr Ishrat-ul-Ibad has called upon the people to get new computerised national identity cards (CNICs) at their earliest and facilitate compilation of data on the availability of human resource in Pakistan.
The Governor was attending to a briefing on the working of the National Database Registration Authority (Nadra) given to him by Chairman Nadra Brigadier Saleem Moean (Retd) at the Governor House on Thursday.
The Governor asked Nadra to complete registration of the rural population on priority basis so that the population in the far-flung areas was not left behind.
He said that the representatives of the local government institutions should come forward and assist Nadra as well as rural people in getting their cards without any hassles.
The Governor reviewed the software Nadra has developed to check car-jacking. He instructed the concerned departments to take advantage of the technology developed by Nadra.
Ibad said that assistance from Nadra could be taken in developing a provincial database, which would be in the greater national interest.
