Mercedes Ho, director, Asia Pacific Solution Market Development Group, has assessed Pakistan as one of the most suitable places for foreign investment in information technology. She stated this while talking to Sindh Information Technology Minister Syed Kamal Mustafa at his office on Thursday.
Mercedes Ho is heading a delegation of her company's high-ups visiting Pakistan and exploring possibilities of expansion in their business in Pakistan.
She said Pakistan despite being strategically located in the South Asian region, endowed with trained manpower and an environment for IT business development was yet to organise its market.
She quoted examples from many countries where IT had gained significant importance and most of the transactions were being through IT application.
Mercedes Ho said her company was willing to assist both public and private sectors in Pakistan interested in the development of IT business.
The minister appreciated the role of Intel that had been playing in Pakistan, saying Pakistan, especially, Karachi offered excellent opportunities for investment in IT for which trained manpower and infrastructure are available.
Those who attended the meeting included Sindh Information Technology Secretary Muhammad Yahya Waliullah, Information Technology Additional Secretary Dr A.D. Sajnani, Intel Pakistan Country Manager Kamil Hussain and Strategic Relations Manager Osman Maqbool.
