Punjab government has constituted a three-member committee headed by the Punjab Sports Secretary to identify a site for the construction of a multi-purpose stadium in the city.
Punjab chief secretary Kamran Rasool disclosed this while presiding over a meeting here on Tuesday.
The meeting was told that the government was actively planning the construction of the stadium, which would also hold big events like Horse and Cattle Show.
The chief secretary said that the final site would be selected from the preliminary identified sites and a grand and spacious stadium with all necessary facilities for sports and cultural events would be provided.
