The city traffic police chief has warned all bus owners to issue tickets to passengers from March 15, after which legal action would be taken and no excuse would be entertained.
The Deputy Inspector General of Police, Traffic, Mohammad Yamin Khan, said this while talking to a delegation of Karachi Transport Ittehad (KTI), headed by Irshad Bukhari, in his office on Monday.
The DIG Traffic said the issuance of tickets to passengers must be ensured as the commuters are facing difficulties and the conductors misbehave with the public which has also become a routine. The conductors do not issue tickets to the commuters.
He said it would redress the complaints of passengers on the one hand and the transporters would be able to know their actual income.
The tickets must bear company name, ticket number, van number, route number and amount of fare on the ticket, he said.
