A Pakistani convicted of drug trafficking was beheaded by the sword on Monday in the Red Sea port city of Jeddah, the interior ministry said, announcing the first execution in Saudi Arabia this year.
Dhafer Iqbal Qadhi Kalim was condemned to death for "smuggling heroin" into the kingdom, said a ministry statement carried by the official SPA news agency.
