A 25-year-old mother drowned all four of her children in a well before ending her own life in a village in the western Indian state of Gujarat, police said on Monday.
Local police chief Prabhat Patel told television news channels that Geeta Bain hurled her three daughters and son, all aged less than six, into a well on Sunday in Kotda village in Gujarat's Saurashtra region.
"The 25-year-old mother who was reportedly suffering from some mental illness had gone to wash clothes with water drawn from the village well along with her children," said Patel.
