Pakistan Agriculture Supply and Storage Corporation (Passco) received bids for stevedoring and handling of 300,000 tonnes of wheat. The bids range from Rs 411 to Rs 660 per tonne.
Managing director Passco Major General Fahim Akhtar, prior to opening of tenders here on Saturday, said that the Passco would ensure transparency in the tendering process and all decisions would be taken on merit. General manager Passco Muhammad Akram was also present on the occasion.
The tender opening ceremony was held at the Passco's head office here on Saturday. As many as 11 companies participated in the bidding process.
As per details received, Multi Cargo has offered the lowest bid of Rs 209 for stevedoring and Rs 202 for handling (Rs 411) per tonne of wheat, while Garib Sons quoted the highest bid of Rs 313 for stevedoring and Rs 347 for handling (Rs 660) per tonne of wheat.
Other companies, including Tanslong Management Services, quoted Rs 227 and Rs 229 (Rs 456), Cargo Safety Services quoted Rs 264 and Rs 265 (Rs 529), Universal Trading and Handling Corporation quoted Rs 227 and Rs 259 (Rs 486), Waqar and Co gave its quotation of Rs 222 and Rs 259 (Rs 481), Asia Terminal gave its bid of Rs 218 and Rs 229 (Rs 447), United Equipment quoted Rs 211 and Rs 201.50 (Rs 412.50), Sea Trade (pvt) Limited quoted Rs 224.60 and Rs 228 (Rs 452.60), OTP gave its bid of Rs 289 and Rs 289 (Rs 578) while Barwil quoted Rs 284 and Rs 237 (Rs 521) for stevedoring and handling of per tonne of wheat.
