The Chehlum of former chief of JUP and MMA late Maulana Shah Ahmed Noorani Siddiqui was held here at Ameer Khusro Bagh near his Clifton residence on Sunday.
People from all walks of life and his followers attended the Chehlum in large number. The MMA leaders and other politicians were also present.
Significant among those present were acting Chief of MMA, Qazi Hussain Ahmed, Hafiz Hussain Ahmed, Pir Ejaz Shah, Ghulam Ahmed Bilour, N D Khan, Shah Faridul Haq and Imran Khan.
These leaders also briefly addressed the gathering and eulogised the service of late Maulana Noorani.
The speakers said that Maulana Noorani was a great religious and political leader who worked day and night for the unity of Muslim Ummah in general and Pakistani nation in particular.
Late Maulana was a man of principles who never succumbed to pressures and continued to work relentlessly for socio-religious harmony in the country, the speakers highlighted.
