The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has agreed to Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB)'s proposal of playing test matches in the first half of the forthcoming tour and one-day internationals in the second half.
Jaghmohan Dalmiya in a letter has informed the PCB that the Indian cricket team will visit in the first week of March and will stretch the tour until mid April. The PCB in the next couple of days will send the BCCI a comprehensive tour itinerary that will include the dates and venues of the matches.
PCB Chief Executive Ramiz Raja in a statement said, 'We are glad that BCCI has accepted our proposal that tests should take preference over one-day internationals.
The PCB stance on scheduling test matches before the one-day internationals was based on cricket grounds and weather conditions.
The BCCI was willing to send the team on March 1. But we have requested them to delay their arrival for a few more days because of Ashura that is expected to fall on March 2 and 3.
India will play a three-day warm up game, three tests and five one-day internationals on its first full tour in almost 15 years.
