Dozens of residential buildings in Cantonment have been converted into commercial buildings and shopping centers by the people in violation and connivance of the officials of the Rawalpindi Cantonment Board.
As per by laws of the Cantonment Board no residential building will be allowed to convert into a commercial building and commercial activities will not be allowed in any such building.
Any person who wishes to convert his building will have to pay set fees to Cantonment Board and leave a sufficient place for parking.
But dozens of buildings in various areas falling in Rawalpindi Cantonment have been converted into commercial plazas without taking any permission from the RCB and without paying any single penny as fee.
All these building owners have converted these buildings into commercial one by paying amount to the officials of the building department of the RCB, said the sources in Rawalpindi Cantonment Board.
They said that many officials of the building department of Rawalpindi Cantonment Board are earning huge money by such nefarious business and are putting huge dent to the national exchequer besides violating the rules and regulations of the organisation.
