Minister for Information and Broadcasting Sheikh Rashid Ahmed has said Pakistan wants sustained, solid and result-oriented dialogue with India for the solution of all disputes, including the core issue of Kashmir.
"The atmosphere is suitable and process is moving ahead which should be expedited," the minister told Geo Television on Monday.
"The issue of Kashmir involves three parties, including India, Pakistan and Kashmiris," he said, adding, "so the concerns of all parties have to be addressed to have a sustainable solution of the Kashmir dispute."
"Any one who thinks the issue of Kashmir can be resolved by keeping the Kashmiris aside, is mistaken," he added.
To a question he said friendly relations between the people of Pakistan and India are in mutual interest of both countries but this objective can only be achieved when the issue of Kashmir is addressed.
"The way leading towards normalcy in Indo-Pak relations is passing through Kashmir," he maintained.
He said the people of Kashmir have waited over half a century for the solution of their problem and it will be unjust to make them wait further.
He said Prime Minister Vajpayee has expressed the will to solve this issue in his lifetime and there is a very bold leadership in the person of President Musharraf in Pakistan.
"In such a situation all that is required is political will and foresightedness, which, if achieved, can move the process toward its logical and acceptable end," he said.
"We should move ahead with strong will by burying the past," he said, adding, "mere passage of time will serve no purpose".
