imageISLAMABAD: Pakistan's High Commissioner to South Africa Najm us Saqib discussed bilateral economic and diplomatic relations with Ambassador Diabi Mmualefe, Director (Asia Pacific) of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Relations of Botswana.

The High Commissioner who was on a three-day visit from May 3- 5, to Botswana reviewed the ties between the two countries with a view to increasing interaction between Islamabad and Gaborone, says a message from South Africa issued here.

High Commissioner of Pakistan to South Africa Najm us Saqib, is also concurrently accredited to Swaziland, Botswana, Mozambique, Lesotho and Namibia.

Both sides emphasized the need to strengthen bilateral relations in all fields. In this regard, progress on signing a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between the two Governments on Bilateral Political Consultations was discussed.

Expressing satisfaction over the speedy work being done by both sides in finalizing the MoU, the High Commissioner and Director Diabi Mmualefe hoped to have it signed soon after completion of related formalities.

The High Commissioner offered courses to senior and junior diplomats at the Foreign Service Academy, Islamabad.

Mmualefe thanked the Government of Pakistan and expressed willingness to nominate suitable candidates for the courses offered.

During the visit, High Commissioner also interacted with the representatives of the small Pakistani community based in Botswana and listened to their problems mainly relating to issuance of Machine Readable Passports.

The accompanied Consular Team expeditiously addressed the consular issues of Pakistanis. The Community expressed gratitude to the Government of Pakistan for effectively looking after their interests in Botswana.

The High Commissioner directed his team to keep the tradition of being extra courteous and helpful in addressing problems of all Pakistanis.
