Pakistan has dropped to ninth position in latest ICC One Day Internationals (ODI) ranking while they have retained seventh position in Twnety20 Internationals.
According to the media reports, ICC Cricket World Cup 2015 finalists Australia and New Zealand have retained the top two positions. South Africa has swapped places with India to move into third position, while the West Indies has exchanged places with Pakistan to push the 1992 World Cup winners out of the top eight.
Australia, who won their fifth World Cup title in Melbourne last year, are now sitting on 124 points after dropping two points to lead New Zealand by 113points. Mean while, Australia (124) and New Zealand (113), meanwhile, retained the first and second positions respectively in the ODI rankings. India (109) was however pulled down to fourth by South Africa (112) who rose to the third position.
The race will once again see Pakistan, West Indies and to some extent Bangladesh fight to maintain their positions among top eight.
However, Pakistan is also at a low seventh spot in the ICC T20I rankings. ICC World Twenty20 2016 champion West Indies have slipped to third, ahead of fourth-ranked South Africa, fifth-ranked England, sixth-ranked Australia, seventh-ranked Pakistan, eighth-ranked Sri Lanka, ninth-ranked Afghanistan and tenth-ranked Bangladesh.
