imageThe modes of transport are undergoing positive changes, and companies are constantly experimenting with green technologies, electricity in particular has become the latest trend.

A company has taken this trend into an unexpected territory and the firm has literally reinvented the bicycle’s wheel into electrical powerhouse. According to The Verge, the firm GeoOrbital has provided a simple solution.

Instead of building a battery and motors into a bike, GeoOrbital has introduced a wheel that can be added to almost any bike in mere seconds. As per the report, all you need to do it just take off your front wheel and replace it with GeoOrbital's electric wheel. The new wheel contains a sort of triangular housing that consists of three smaller wheels which rest against the inside of the rim.

imageThese smaller wheels act as gears in a bike, attached to the rim they propel and turn the bike wheel forward. As per Auto Evolution, The GeoOrbital uses a 500W motor and a 7.5 pounds 36V lithium ion battery. The batteries are removable, which is an added plus.

The e-bikes come with a price tag of $500, and the compaany is all set to take pre-orders. the eletrical powered bicycles enjoys a top speed of 20mph (30km/h) covering a similar distance in one charge. Whereas, the charging time is 4 hours.
