imageISLAMABAD: Trade Development Authority of Pakistan (TDAP) under the supervision of Ministry of Commerce will hold trade road shows in Moscow and Tehran after the month of Ramazan.

The TDAP is holding a single-series of such trade shows in the Central Asian countries of Tajikistan, Kyrgyzstan and Kazakhstan in May this year in which Pakistan's products from export sectors will be displayed by the TDAP itself in professionally organized designer-made exhibition pavilions of Pakistan.

This was informed in the meeting of the Board of Directors of TDAP held under the chairmanship of Minister for Commerce, Engr. Khurram Dastgir Khan which was attended by the members from public and private sectors.

Approval was also granted to submit a master plan to the Board to upgrade the existing facilities of Karachi Expo Center and construction of new exhibition halls following international standards.

The new and upgraded facilities will cater to the requirements of all the sectors containing all the utilities required to showcase and demonstrate small machines to large units.

The Board also granted approval to make necessary arrangements to run the Vapor Heat Treatment Plant on Public Private Partnership in which the Plant will continue to remain Government's equity.

The TDAP will issue the terms and conditions of this partnership and will seek proposals from private sector to operate the VHT plant.

Minister for Commerce instructed TDAP to make the Plant operational at the earliest so that high-end markets of fruits and vegetable of Japan, Europe and America may be captured.

The Board directed the TDAP to refer the matter of regularization of TDAP officials to the Establishment Division to seek expert advice on service rules and bring the matter in the next meeting of Board.

Policy guidelines for appointment of consultants and researchers in TDAP in line with the directions issued by the Establishment Division were also approved by the Board.

The Board constituted a committee comprising Chief Executive TDAP, Additional Secretary Ministry of Commerce, Secretary TDAP, DG TDAP and Joint Secretary Finance Division to oversee the process of hiring.
