Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has started its search for the new head coach of the national team.
The deadline to apply for the post finished on Monday and the matter now rests with the PCB and the two-member committees of Wasim Akram and Ramiz Raja have said that they are looking to shortlist people for the assistant coach position as well.
As per reports, England’s Peter Moores, South African Micky Arthur and Pakistan’s 1992 World Cup successful quick-bowler Aaqib Javed are notion to be favourites. But experiences are emerging that Aaqib has not utilized for the post as he was once no longer convinced with Ramiz and Wasim publicly speaking of their preference of an international teach.
The foreign players who have applied for the said post are Australia’s Dean Jones, Tom Moody, Stuart Law and Jamie Siddons and South African Mickey Arthur. However, the board has also been in touch with Aaqib Javed.
Earlier, the consistent poor performance of national team in Asia Cup and World Twenty20, Waqar Younis stepped down from the position of head coach.
