imageISLAMABAD: Heat stroke, although, serious but is simply shooting up of body temperature due to deficiency of water in the body.

Heat stroke, could be simply avoided, by taking lots of water, a minimum of eight glasses and upto 3 litres per day; water, they said, would help maintain the normal body temperature.

This was advised by medical experts during a television show, besides medical experts, there were nutritionists and cooking experts to float suggestions in this regard.

Daily consumption of thin whey also help prevent occurrence of heat stroke, they exhorted.

Besides, during simmering hot days, staying indoor should be preferred, and in any case if one has to go outside, one should cover his head.

Characterised by dizziness and severe headach, heat stroke could also occur due to hard labour in scorching heat.

A cooking expert also suggested a simple but highly beneficial recipe, that was tea made of dried plums, fennel, cinnmon, cardamom(both black and green).

Moreover, shake of unriped mangoes was also recommended by the cooking expert as a soothing heat reliever during sultry summers.

They said, if one fell victim to heat stroke, immediate First Aid to the victim should be provided.

The First Aid should be to cover the victim's head with wet cloth and he/she should be taken to some cooler place.

And, the victim should immediately be rushed to the nearby hospital, the experts concluded.
