imageKARACHI: Sindh Governor Dr Ishrat-ul-Ebad Khan here on Tuesday said that the ongoing Karachi Operation will continue till its logical end.

Talking to a five-member delegation of Federal Chamber of Commerce and Investment's Committee (FPCCI) on Anti Terrorism and Special Security, he appreciated that the reputation of Karachi as the City of Light was fast being restored.

"It is leading towards confidence rebuilding of the citizens as well as that of potential investors for which our law enforcers and concerned agencies deserve to be felicitated," he told the delegation led by FPCCI's Committee's Chairman, Abdul Wahab.

Dr Ishrat appreciated that normalcy has been restored in the metropolis in its truest spirit adding that business as well as recreational activities have resumed without any sense of fear.

The Governor said improved situation has particularly benefitted the business community.

"Like any other inhabitant of Karachi local traders and industrialists were equally exposed to serious difficulties due to poor law and order situation," he said.

It was in the given backdrop that operation was initiated against terrorists, target killers, extortionists and those involved in abduction for ransom, he said.

The Governor also appreciated the fact that citizens of Karachi wholeheartedly supported the operation without any distinction as they too were equally keen towards restoration of peace.

Karachi is the hub of commercial activities in the country and it therefore cannot leave at the mercy of the terrorists, he said.

Abdul Wahab said industrialization would ultimately lead to employment opportunities for the youth.

Among others Haris Nawaz, Ghizala Ahmed, Yasmin Hasnain and Rozina Jalal also included in the delegation.
