imageSIALKOT: Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) has made all the necessary arrangements to hold free, fair, impartial, transparent and peaceful local government (LG) elections in Sialkot district, scheduled to be held on December 05, 2015.

According to District Election Commissioner Sialkot Malik Javaid Iqbal,the LG Polls would be held in all the 124 rural union councils of Sialkot district and , in 24 urban union councils of Municipal Corporation Sialkot on December 05, 2015.

He said that there were total 124 rural union councils of Sialkot Zila Council, out of which Sialkot tehsil has 44 union councils, Daska tehsil has 31 union councils, Pasrur tehsil has 34 union councils and Sambrial tehsil has 15 rural union councils.

In Sialkot city, there are 24 urban union councils of Sialkot Municipal Corporation. In Daska city, there are 30 wards. In Sambrial city, there are 20 wards and there are 26 wards in Pasrur city.

District Election Commissioner Sialkot Malik Javaid Iqbal said that the ECP has established total 1539 polling stations and 4332 polling booths in Sialkot district ahead of the coming LB polls.

Meanwhile, candidates of almost all the political parties and even the independent candidates with their supporters have started door-to-door campaign seeking votes in streets, wards and union councils here in Sialkot. They were carrying the models of their electoral symbols in their hands as gift to their voters and supporters.

A great political hustle and bustle was being witnessed everywhere there in Sialkot district, as the main political parties including PML-N and PTI were also airing their party songs on loud speakers. All the candidates were trying to prove themselves as the true servants of the people.

The election fever is shooting up day by day in Sialkot district all the four Sialkot, Daska, Sambrial and Pasrur tehsils as the electioneering is also gaining momentum in Sialkot district ahead of the local bodies elections scheduled to be held on December 05, 2015 in the third phase of the LB polls in Punjab.

Almost all the boundary walls of the houses in streets and along the roads have been covered by colourful posters, portraits , banners, stickers and giant flexes by the candidates belonging to all the main political parties including PML-N , PTI, PPP and JI, their voters and supporters.

While, the candidates have also decorated their election halls with the giant party flags and their electoral symbols as well besides displaying the giant portraits of their party leaders.

The candidates are serving hot soups, Jalebies, Pakoras and tea to their voters and supporters at their election halls in all the four Sialkot, Daska, Sambrial and Pasrur tehsils here, besides, displaying big LCDs there to lure the local people.

The independent candidates are also not living behind in the race. They were also having political hustle bustle in and around their election halls with the loud drumbeats by the performing drummers as well.

Most of the candidates belonging to different ‘Biradaries’ are hopeful to win, saying that the Biradarism was also playing vital role in the politics ahead of the coming LG polls, schedule to be held on December 05, 2015 in Sialkot district. All the main parties including PML-N, PTI and PPP are claiming to give tough time to each other ahead of the coming LG polls.
