FAISALABAD: An agriculture experts has advised growers to ensure sowing of wheat as early as possible as delay will affect its yield.
Talking to APP Monday, renowned wheat expert Dr Noorul Islam Khan said ideal time for sowing of wheat was the second week of November and the delay in its sowing would not only reduce its yield but also attract insect attack which would affect the quality of grains.
He said at present, the yield of the wheat in Pakistan as compared to the other countries was low because of delay in its sowing and use of inferior quality of seeds.
For getting maximum yield it was imperative that growers should ensure use certified wheat seed for cultivation, he added.
