Pakistan Test and T20 captains Misbah-ul-Haq and Shahid Afridi are keen to take part in the Bangladesh Premier League.
According to media report, Afridi said, “I am also open to offers to play in the Bangladesh Premier League as it will help me get back into the right mode”.
“So far 182 foreign players, including 52 from Pakistan and 48 from England, have formally expressed their interest to play this year,” said BPL technical committee member Khaled Mahmud. “Among the top names are Misbahul Haq, Shahid Afridi and Mohammad Amir whose ban has been lifted recently, Chris Gayle of the West Indies, Ravi Bopara of England and Kumar Sangakkara of Sri Lanka,” he added.
Nearly 200 foreign cricketers have expressed interest in the Bangladesh Premier League (BPL). The Pakistan Cricket Board barred its players from the second edition of the BPL in 2013 after Bangladesh refused to tour Pakistan, citing security fears. But ties between the two boards have improved in recent days after Bangladesh sent its women’s cricket team to Pakistan.
Afridi has played 27 Tests, 398 One-Day Internationals and 84 T20Is for Pakistan with over 11,000 runs and over 500 wickets across all formats.
