imageKabir Khan’s upcoming movie ‘Phantom’ starring Saif Ali Khan and Katrina Kaif in the lead role seems to be anti-Pakistan movie, on which Jamaat-ud Dawa (JuD) chief Hafiz Muhammad Saeed’s filed a petition in a Lahore court, demanding a ban on the release of political thriller in Pakistan.

However, reacting on the same issue, ‘Phantom’ actor said, “As far as Pakistan is concerned, I always thought that this film will be banned in Pakistan as there are certain topics which Pakistan bans without watching the film or without any review. We too have made films which have been passed in Pakistan. But those kinds of films are different. When there are films like this (Phantom), which have a realistic base, it’s no surprise for me if this film is banned in Pakistan,” Indian media reported.

The ‘Phantom’ team organized a press meeting especially to address this issue. On the same meeting Saif Ali Khan said, “Nobody is against Pakistan or their religion, but this is a different subject and Kabir has treated it in a nice way. I feel that the people should see the film before passing judgment,” Indian Express Reported.

“The film is based on facts and everybody knows what happened during 26/11 and everybody knows who is responsible for the same. We all know that terrorists are hiding in Pakistan, so why shouldn’t we accept it? Why should we just make films on fictitious events?. We know what the reality is. Is this a secret? Why can’t we say this in open? Aren’t there people who are dead for Indians but residing in Pakistan. You all know that right?,” he added.

Director Kabir Khan and actor Saif Ali Khan mostly come up with such topics which highlight political tension between Pakistan and India. Though, such type of movies never worked for Saif Ali Khan (especially) but he still chose to work on this genre.

Previously, movies like ‘Agent Vinod’ and ‘Kurbaan’ was also on the same subject which was not received well by the audience.
