Pakistani batsman Younis Khan has bagged many records in recent tours and now he is all set for a big-one during the Test series against Sri Lanka.
He is also two games away to make century of playing International Test matches. He will be fifth Pakistani player to achieve this record. Before him Wasim Akram, Salim Malik, Javed Miandad and Inzamam-ul-Haq have played 100 Test matches in their cricketing career.
According to local media reports, though Younis’ average against the Lankans — 50.47 is lower than his career average of 53.75 over 98 Tests. ‘Mardan’ born Younis is only 453 runs away from entering into 9000-runs club. He will be the only Pakistani and 14th International batsman to score 9000 runs. However, the high number of runs can also be due to the amount of games he has played against the Lankans, with as many as 26 of his 98 games coming against them also more than any other player.
With two games remaining to make century of International Test matches, he is also 286 runs away from breaking legendary batman Miandad’s 22-year-old record. Miandad is the highest run scorer for Pakistan with 8832 runs in Test cricket.
