Bollywood controversial actress Sunny Leone, against whom a case of allegedly ‘promoting vulgarity’ was registered has appeared before police for recording her statement.
According to Indian media reports, Joint Commissioner of Police V V Laxminarayan confirmed that Sunny Leone visited the headquarters on Tuesday. “Sunny Leone came to the headquarters premises with her lawyer and met officials of the cyber crime cell who are investigating the case. She recorded her statement and left,” said Laxminarayan.
Leone told police that it’s improper to link her past with present.
A source reveals that Leone stated, “The objectionable video clips circulating here belong to when I was working in the adult film industry in the US. I have distanced myself from any such roles after becoming a part of the Indian film fraternity. I feel it would be improper to haunt me with the past when I am trying to move ahead in life,” Times of India reported.
A FIR was lodged by a Hindu social activist who accused Leone for promoting obscenity through photographs and videos on her website. She also claimed that Leone is insulting the dignity of women.
