KARACHI: Pakistan People's Party (PPP) leaders maintain that the grand public gathering of PPP, scheduled for Sunday, at historic Kakri ground would establish its popularity among Karachiites.
PPP-Sindh's Secretary for Information and Coordinator to Sindh Chief Minister, Waqar Mehdi here on Saturday said the public meeting will not only be a PPP's power show but shall also reflect undeterred love of masses for it.
Lyariites, in particular, would send a message across the board that Lyari and Lyariites could never be conquered and that they were the successor of the legacy of Shaheed Zulfikar Ali Bhutto, Shaheed Benazir Bhutto, and would be the arms of Asif Ali Zardari and Bilawal Bhutto Zardari, he said. He said that since the Kakri Ground had comparatively a limited space to accommodate the millions of PPP workers hence all lanes and streets, homes and parks of Lyari would be part of the programme.

Syed Najmi Alam further said that Lyari had its specific historical and political importance for PPP.
Lyariites, he claimed were and are ardent supporters of Shaheed Zulfikar Ali Bhutto, Shaheed Benazir Bhutto and Asif Ali Zardari.
