Last week Shoojit Sircar unveiled the official trailer of ‘Piku’. Deepika Padukone has read a lot of medical books for her role in the film.
Deepika plays the daughter of an old man played by Amitabh Bachchan who suffers from constipation, fluctuating blood pressure, and other small illnesses. Deepika has to gather considerable knowledge about medicines to fit-in to the role.
According to Indian media reports, she said, "Yes I did read a lot of books and had to spend hours going through various health and medical issues...symptoms, solutions, preventions etc. In fact, I have gone through so many of them that I now know the basics of conditions like blood pressure, constipation, etc".
The movie ‘Piku’ is a comedy drama, directed by Shoojit Sircar. The most anticipated film of the year starring Deepika Padukone, Irrfan Khan and Amitabh Bachchan is set to hit theatres on May 8.
