imageISLAMABAD: Anti Narcotics Force (ANF) has seized 4.8 tons charas worth of Rs. 4.8 billion in a successful intelligence led operations at general area, near Bismillah Market Super Highway, Karachi.

According to details, Charas was concealed in a man-made hole dug inside the cluster of bushes at a deserted site, far from the inhabited area, said a press release.

Charas was stuffed in 96 plastic sacks, each containing 50 kg of drugs.

As per preliminary reports, the drug consignment was brought from Baluchistan and was placed at a cache site for handing over to some other narcotics gang.

On receipt of safe signals, it was reportedly intended to be transported to Karachi for local consumption as well as smuggling to some foreign location across the sea.

Case has been registered at respective ANF Police Station and further investigations are under process.
