imageKARACHI: Coordinator to the Chief Minister Sindh for Human Rights, Ms. Nadia Gabol has taken notice of a news item about an influential person's demand for marriage of two minors girls' of the family of a man accused of "karo-kari with his wife whom he had killed on suspicion, with men of older age in Ghotki, said a statement issued here on Wednesday.

She directed the district administration and police to provide security to the family of minor girls, submit a detailed report of the incident and take action against those involved in the incident.

It explained that some influential persons had ordered the marriage of two minor girls with aged persons in the jurisdiction of police station B-section, Ghotki following an alleged incident of karo-kari. An influential person Abdul Jabbar had killed his wife on suspicion of illicit relations with a man and is now pressing him to give two minor girls of the accused man's family in marriage to men of older age recommended by the influential. He is also joined by some other influentials in pressing the accused.

The affected family had protested outside Ghotki Press Club against the demand for marriage of the minor girls and called for justice and protection.

Chief Minister's Coordinator took notice of the news of the incident and ordered for protection of the victim family and submission of a detailed report of the incident.

She said that this incident is tantamount to challenging the writ of the government and added that the involved people will not be forgiven.
